Which Is Right for You? Jet Peel vs Silk Peel

When it comes to aesthetic treatments, a skin peel can be very beneficial to your skin. A skin peel removes the upper-most layer of skin and allows nutrients to penetrate, stimulating collagen production, removing dirt and debris, and opening up the pores. There are several options for skin peels, including chemical peels and peels done using technology. Jet peel and silk peel are two types of skin peels that do not use any harsh chemicals and are safe for nearly all skin types.

    Jet Peel vs Silk Peel

    Jet Peel

The jet peel uses a wand to deliver a stream of oxygen and liquid that peels away the upper layer of the skin and infuses the remaining skin with nutrients and hydration. This is an extremely gentle skin peel that does not use any harsh chemicals, and there are no disks scraping away the layers of the skin. It is the most comfortable type of skin peel, but it is also not as effective for deeper tissue problems.

    Silk Peel

The silk peel uses a wand that looks like a fat pen or marker. The tip of the wand contains a diamond plate that scrapes away the upper layers of skin, while a vacuum whisks away debris and serums formulated for your skin needs that are infused into the skin. This type of skin peel is safer than chemical peels, but it is more in-depth than a jet peel.

    Choosing a Skin Peel

If you have severe lines, wrinkles, or blemishes, or if you are really seeing the signs of aging, a silk peel might be more appropriate for you. However, if you have very sensitive skin or if you only have mild aesthetic concerns, you will probably do well with the jet peel.
